Sherman J. McClure passed away in the early morning hours of September 24, 2019, in Kalispell Regional Medical Center at the age of 94.
Sherman was born in Columbia Heights, Minnesota on April 27, 1925. Sherman grew up in South Bend, Indiana, attended ”Lakeville High School” where he excelled in Track and Field events, winning several blue ribbons.
Sherman joined the Navy in the early part of WWII serving aboard the battleship “U.S.S. Pennsylvania” in the South Pacific.
Sherman’s occupation was a machinist and mechanic. When not at work, Sherman enjoyed raising large vegetable gardens, farm animals and was an amid “Fly Fisherman.” Sherman married Doris E. Turrell in 1950 and they resided in Oregon and Washington until Sherman retired in 1986, when they moved to their home in Trego, Montana. He and Doris were married for 60 years until Doris passed in 2010.
A beloved father, grandfather and great grandfather, Sherman is survived by his two daughter, Rochelle Mills, Sharon Richards, son Glenn McClure, daughter-in-law Brenda McClure, three grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Sherman is proceeded in death by one sister, Shirly Amicarella and one brother, Charles McClure.
Sherman was loved by all and will be so greatly missed.
