Allen D. Anderson, 72, passed away Nov. 21, 2016, in Whitefish.
He was born July 14, 1944, to Margaret (Caldwell) and Leonard Anderson in Whitefish.
Allen was brilliant, well-read and talented. He had an incredible bass singing voice and was a gifted songwriter, author and inventor.
He was trained as a metallurgist and worked in Butte and Columbia Falls at Arco for 20 years and followed his ambitions thereafter, manufacturing and distributing Sea-Vu, a unique, one-person small boat for above water ocean and lake viewing.
Allen traveled extensively and eventually lived again in Whitefish, a short distance from his birthplace which was in a small cabin.
He is survived by his four children, Melissa Chatterton, Mindi Passons (Randy), Marcie and Alan. His grandchildren are Devon, Danielle, Dustin, Luke, Avery, Anthony and Xander; and he has one great-granddaughter, Briella.
He is also survived by 11 siblings.
He was predeceased by his parents; and two brothers, Lenny and Ted; a niece, Marie Buck; and a stillborn grandson.
