Danny Shanks

Danny L Shanks, age 64, passed away on February 17, 2022 at his home in Hungry Horse, Montana after a long battle with cancer, he fought for many years. He was born on September 26, 1957 in Glasgow, Montana where he attended school until his parents moved to Kalispell, where he shortly joined them after. He worked many jobs until he went to work for the State of Montana in Olney with the DNRC where he worked in the forest, after that he went to work for Western Building Center in Kalispell, then he did odd jobs for anyone that needed help. His passion was to be in the mountains hunting, fishing, picking huckleberries, or just cutting firewood with friends.

Dan was preceded in death by parents Norman and Sherry Shanks, and brother Don Hustad. He is survived by his wife Cheri Shanks of Hungry Horse; daughter Stephanie (Don) Shanks of Miles City; son Cory (Dixie) Shanks of Columbia Falls; brothers David Hustad of Nashua, Dean (Denise) Shanks of Kalispell, Rob (Karen) Shanks of Kalispell; sisters Dana (Terry) Martin of Salcha, Alaska & Lisa (Jeff) Albrecht of Columbia Falls. He had two granddaughters Paytan Jones of Coeur D’Alene, Eliana Jones; grandsons Dillion Anderson, Cyrus Shanks, and many nieces & nephews.

The family will have a celebration of Dan later in the summer. Buffalo Funeral Home and Crematory is caring for the family.
