Donald Larry Clauson age 81 of Rollins, passed away on June 1, 2024, at Logan Health Medical Center. 

Donald was born on November 8, 1942, in Fairmont, MN to Donald and Ruth (Wooley) Clauson. 

Donald was raised in Farmington, MN and graduated High School in Minneapolis, then went on to get his BA in Norwegian from St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN. and had continuing education at University of Oslo, Norway, after that he received his Teaching Certificate from the University of Minnesota.

He proudly served our Country in the Army Reserves from April 1967- January 1973 as a Radio Operator.

In 1968 he married the love of his life Carol Severson, they had 4 daughters. and they Celebrated 56 years together in March of this year.

His teaching career lasted 25 years in the Public Schools, and Residential Treatment, Special Education.

He was very active in his community serving as a Volunteer Firefighter in Rollins, member of the American Legion, Former Lions Club President and a long-time member of the NRA.

He enjoyed horseback riding, Woodworking, building Model Planes, and Hunting.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife Carol, children: Kirsten (Chad) of Hurst, TX, Marta (Mike) of Otsego, MN, Anna (Tayte) of Lusby, MD, and Sonja (Greg) of Kalispell, MT. grandchildren: Michael, Karlie, (Zack), Andrew, Kaitlyn, Brittney (Cody), Caleb, Noah, Lilly, Ava, Sophia and Ella.

The family wishes memorial contributions be made to the NW Montana Veterans Food Pantry in Kalispell, MT or the American Legion.

No Services are planned at this time. Flowers can be sent to the Funeral Home and they will be delivered to the family.
