It’s with great sadness the family of Donna “highpockets” Gamble ne’e Evans announces her passing on February 3, 2024, at the age of 84. Donna passed peacefully with family by her side at The Brendan House in Kalispell, Mt

Donna was born on November 24, 1939, to Russell Evans and Alvera Evans/ Hammett in Southgate California. She was a big sister to Rusty and Danny. She Married Charles Schinke on September 26,1957. They had four children. Sheryl, Sena, Chris and Chuck. They moved to Oregon in 1966 and were later separated in 1967. Donna met David Gamble shortly afterwards. They were married and spent their time traveling from ranch to ranch throughout the western United States where he worked as a ranch hand. They moved to Canada in 1972. Together they adopted Tonya Gamble and Joey Hebblewaite. They parted ways in 1977. Donna moved to Columbia Falls Montana where she received her nickname “highpockets” while bartending at the Paul Bunyan Bar. She was tall and the only bartender that her pockets showed above the bar. Later she moved to her own acreage near Kalispell. There she met and married Danny Holling. They moved to Crystal Lake. They divorced and she then found the love of her life, Ed Carvey. She often said “God saved the best for last.” He was a true blessing for Donna and her kids. He was very much loved by all.

Donna had many different occupations through her life. She waitressed, was a secretary several times, managed a western store, worked for Pepsi, management at Walmart, cleaned houses, cleaned retail stores, worked retail and bartended. She was a single Mother for a big part of her life and worked three jobs to support her kids.

Her biggest love in life were her children and grandchildren. She also loved her friends, horses, motorbiking, rodeos, hunting, fishing, camping spending time on the machines at the bowling alley and taking pride in her home.

After her accident in December Donna showed what a fighter she was. She found humor and strength when most would give up. She often referred to her strength from her Grabbie and Higgins bloodlines. Most of all she found strength in God. She had a cushion in her bed that said” with God all things are possible “. She told everyone that was what gave her the strength through her losses and her accident.

Ma you will be so very missed. Happy Trails until we meet again. Love you to the barn and back❤️

There will be a celebration of her life at a later date.
