Dorothy “Dory” Smith, age 78, passed away on October 22, 2017 in Kalispell, MT. Dory was born on May 3, 1939 in Oakland, CA to Richard H. Smith and Martha C. (Welch) Smith. Dory was raised in the Oakland area where she attended school and graduated from Oakland High School. She had a wonderful 32 year career working for Owens Illinois Glass Company as an Assistant Foreman and Chief Auditor. Dory was community involved with different activities such as a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and the Kalispell Senior Center. She loved to crochet, cook, but she was known for her specialty pies. Dory is preceded in death by her parents. Dory is survived by her son Forest Dean Sandifer, daughter Tracy Lee Hoos, and sister, Shirley Jackman. There are no services planned at this time. Urn burial will take place in California.
