Gladys Danielson

July 6, 1926 — January 14, 2011

Gladys Mae (Baldwin) Danielson, 84, passed away after an extended illness Jan. 14, 2011, at Brendan House in Kalispell.

She was born July 6, 1926, in Havre, and raised in the Flathead Valley where she attended Egan School and Flathead County High School.

She served with the U.S. Cadet Nurse Corps during World War II.

Gladys married Fred I. Danielson on Oct. 3, 1945.

In addition to being a housewife, Gladys worked at Sears for several years when the store first came to Kalispell. She also was a secretary at Modern Woodman Insurance and Northridge Lutheran Church.

Gladys was a member of the Rose Society. A flower gardener, she grew many flowers and roses. She also enjoyed fishing, camping and traveling to Arizona.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Fred Danielson; parents, Ed and Bertha Baldwin; and brothers, Mel, Ray and Jerry.

She is survived by her son, Bob Danielson, of Kalispell; brothers, Merle and Jeanne of Kalispell, and Bert and Inez of New York; sister, Edna, of Kalispell; grandchildren, Greg of Butte, and James of Columbia Falls; great-grandchildren, Alexxis and Aspyn; sister-in-law, Maggie Danielson; and her nieces and nephews.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 20, at Buffalo Hill Funeral Home, with a reception to follow.

Memorials are suggested to Hospice or the donor’s choice.
