Gordon "Norm" Pirrie

Gordon (Norm) Pirrie, 87, of Kalispell, passed away on June 20, 2026.

Born on November 26,1938 in Billings, MT. Gordon lived a life marked by family and community leadership. He owned and operated Western Outdoor and Norms News and was known for his leadership in both the Flathead Chamber of Commerce (Great Chief recipient and Business Man of the Year) and the Montana State Chamber of Commerce (Chairman of the Board) and Foundation. His most passionate role was supporter of the 4-H and FFA kids. Gordon was a lifelong member of the Montana Shriners Al Bedoo club in Billings (following in his father's footsteps). Along with countless other board positions on private and non-profit board of directors.

Outside of work, Gordon enjoyed fishing, travelling (especially driving the backroads of Montana with his friend Cal) and cooking. Gordon and Carol took weekly road trips to Glacier National Park and the surrounding areas. They especially loved sack lunches sitting on the shores of Lake McDonald watching the people. He will be remembered for his kindness, generosity and continual support of his family, friends and organizations.

Gordon was preceded in death by his father George Pirrie and mother Henrietta Lammers Pirrie. His older brother George Pirrie II and younger brother Stuart Pirrie. He is survived by his wife Carol of 63 years, Daughter Susan (husband Mark) and son Mark (wife Beth). Grandchildren Gavin (wife Alysha), Grace, Ganten and Kylie. And the light of his eye Great Grandson Arlo

A celebration of life will be held at a later date this Fall. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Children Hospital, Kalispell Kiwanis Club, Veterans Pantry and the Flathead 4-H Foundation if desired.

Though deeply missed, Gordon's love, wisdom, and memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
