Gregory Alan Timmons was born on May 18th, 1965 in Hamilton Montana, upon which we are certain he started speaking right away. Greg would spend his early childhood in Victor, MT fishing, riding bikes and reading comic books, especially Spider Man who was his favorite of all Superheroes. Later, Greg would move to Kalispell, MT with his family and attend West Valley School. Here he would help his family build a log house and for fun would ride his dirt bike that he saved his money for by selling the Grit newspaper at the B & B. This would be Gregs first experience at entrepreneurship.
In high school, Greg attended and graduated from Flathead High in 1983. During high school, Greg was active in wrestling and auto shop. His skills that he learned in auto would help him to take care of his cherished El Camino which he had fond memories of cruising around the valley. While attending high school Greg worked at his family print shop, American Printing, where he would continue to work into his 30’s. During this time Greg would become very involved in Kung Foo and developed a liking for martial arts. His Kung Foo longstaff is kept near his bed, because, well “you never know”.
In his spare time, Greg loved hunting and even did an extreme Alaskan Hunt with his brother. Unfortunately, a volcano had erupted which blew ash in their hunting area, so the harvest of a large ram was not successful, but the memories of hiking the glaciers and surviving the extreme elements with his brother were one of his fondest memories.
During his time at American Printing, Greg and his family started American Land and Development, which they built many beautiful homes throughout the valley. This endeavor also gave Greg the skills to build his own home for his family and prompted another business endeavor as a Certified Home Inspector.
Later, Greg would end up in Russia to adopt his daughter Nina who would join 3 brothers, Kevin, Bobby and Michael. This adventure would lead to the development of Lifeline of Hope, an Orphan Aid Charity, organized by Greg and his wife Laurie, along with Greg’s parents, Dave and Alaina Board and close family friends, the Millers and the Murphys. Greg spent the remainder of his working career leading the mission which today supports needful children and families in nine countries. One of Greg’s favorite roles at Orphan’s Lifeline was writing the newsletter, the Voice of the Orphans, where he was so talented at weaving the connection between the children and the thousands of loving hearts that support the mission today.
Greg, also known as Faja, Pops, Paps, Pappa, Fill, Greg T! Yoda, Mr. Timmons and many other endearing nicknames, spent many enjoyable years travelling, writing books, camping, side by side riding, bonfire chatting and just enjoying time with his family and friends that he so dearly loved.
He really was our very own Superhero and handled all things that a true Superhero would. He was highly skilled at creating fire for fun family and friends’ bonfires, navigating high seas while pulling his kids and grandkids behind the boat. Promptly solving almost every problem that came in our family’s way. And kept a variety of tools and supplies for any bad situation that might present itself to those he loved.
Sadly, Greg was diagnosed with Colon Cancer in 2020. Unfortunately, it was treatable but not curable. Regardless, he fought a true Superhero fight for nearly 5 years and maintained his adventurous spirit and gregarious personality for the majority of his battle, all while keeping his struggles to himself as to not upset those that he loved.
While our hearts are broken and we carry sadness forth with us, we do know that he is in a better place. As a devoted Christian and true believer in Jesus, we take comfort in knowing that he is free from the pain and struggles that come with Cancer.
Greg is preceded in death by his father Bill Timmons, his daughter Kyrie Timmons, his sister Holly Timmons, his father Dave Board, his son Robert Bleick, his buddy Zimba, as well as his many loving grandparents, uncles and other dear family members that went before him.
Greg is survived by his wife Laurie Timmons, his children Kevin Timmons, Michael (Rachelle) Bleick, Nina Timmons, John (Tia) Richardson, his seven grandchildren Landen Bleick, Reikah Bjork, Kaeden Bleick, Winston Timmons, Braxton Bleick, Ava and Isaac Napier, his mother Alaina Board, father and mother in law Tom (Sandy) Shipp , brother Jeff (Carla) Timmons, brother Chad (Teresa) Board, sister Selah (Larry) Lefebvre, uncle David (Denise) Adams and the many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who he loved so much.
