Jacqueline Short Fleury

Jacqueline Fleury, 70

Our dear sweet mother passed away peacefully at Logan Health on Jan. 28, 2024, after a battle with many illnesses, but it was a stroke that rendered her non- responsive. So, after consultations with family, we decided to put her in comfort care. She passed later that night.

She was an amazing soul, a fighter, a ROCK, an inspiration to many and she was brave. She fought it all with a positive outlook and a smile. She was tired and decided it was time, her fight was over.

She grew up in Port Byron, NY with her 5 brothers and 2 sisters. Never a dull moment growing up. Lots of family gatherings; Holidays, birthdays, card nights, sports out in the back field. She became a single mom at 18 to 2 boys Steve and John. They were her first loves. She then met Brad in 1975, again. He had 2 kids of his own, Shelley and Bryan.  They fell in love and were married in 1977 in Myrtle Beach, SC.  They lived in NC for a while and had a daughter Emily.  In 1980 they decided to move back to Port Byron, NY where they had gone to school together and had lots of friends and family. Lots of fishing, camping and family gatherings.

Then they moved to Kalispell in 1989 where their journey would continue and grew new roots. Made lots of friends through various jobs. She made a big impression on a lot of people and will be missed by so many.

She is survived by her 5 kids: Steve Short of Port Byron, NY.  John Short of Kalispell, MT.  Shelley Lawson of Absarokee, MT.  Bryan (Tammie) Fleury of Clinton, NC.  Emily (Marcus) Dunham of Kalispell, MT.

5 Grandkids: Nicole(Dusty)Warren of Clinton, NC. Adam(Gabbi)Fleury of Clinton, NC. Taylor Fleury (Ricky) of Kennewick, WA.  McKenna "Quinn" Dunham of Kalispell, MT, Logan Dunham of Kalispell, MT.

11 Great Grandkids: Jace, Bristol, Michael, Axton, Ryott, Maddox, Chance, Salem, Ollie, Joshua and Allison.

Brothers: Bill (Judy)Short, Jim Short, Rusty (Donna) Short, Greg Short

Sisters: Kathy (David) Chuttey, Tracey (Jim) Fox

Nieces and Nephews: Amber, Jennifer, Paul, Holly, Rob, Ranee, Brian, Mike, Marty, Jason, Keith, Nathan, Allison, Jessica, Ashley.

Also, by her great nieces and nephews. Too many to name, but she loved and adored them all. Always excited to see FB posts and updates on them all.  She was also excited about the 4 babies that will be joining our BIG family this year.

She is preceded in death by: Bill and Dorothy Short - Parents, Richard Short - Brother, Lilly Dunham - Granddaughter, Kyle Lawson - Grandson, Brad Fleury - Husband

There will be a gathering at a later date, this summer for all the locals, and a Celebration of life and Spreading of her ashes with family next summer, 2025.
