James Schrage

James Lloyd Schrage, age 76, passed away at Logan Health Medical Center in Kalispell, MT March 31, 2022. James was born August 18, 1945 in Hardin, MT to John and Elsie (Durtsche) Schrage.

He was raised in Powell, WY and immediately after high school enlisted in the United States Army from 1963-1966 where he was a part of the 1st Cavalry Divisions Aviation Battalion and would serve one tour in Vietnam as a CH-47 Helicopter Maintenance Technician.

Upon completion of his enlistment James would become a technician for Columbia Falls Aluminum Company for 35 years. James wed Patricia Collier in 1990 in Kalispell and would spend a wonderful 31 years together raising a family. He could often be found wood working, golfing and golf club building.

James is preceded in death by his parents John and Elsie; sisters Helen Gebhart and Shirley Yonts; and brothers Bill and Rick Schrage. He is survived by his wife Patricia; sister Diana Schrage-Krahenbuhl; sons Travis, James, Justin Schrage and Scott Collier; grandchildren Jaylene Myers, Nolan Collier, Keri, Robert, Ashley, Tyler and Tara Schrage; and greatgrandchildren Aspyn, Sebashtian and Montgomery Myers.

There will be a private family gathering Sunday, April 3, 2022. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Memorials are suggested to Vietnam Veteran Memorial Fund at www.vvmf.org, please donate in the name of James L. Schrage.
