Barbara "Joanne" Kienas, 84, of Somers, passed away peacefully surrounded by family. She was born on Dec. 19, 1940, in Kalispell to John and Isabel White of Somers.Joanne attended Somers Grade School and graduated from Flathead County High School. She went on to work as a secretary for Somers School and Eidsvold Lutheran Church, where her faith and service touched many. She also served as a dedicated postal clerk at both the Somers and Kalispell Post Offices until her retirement.In 1957, Joanne married the love of her life, Robert "Bob" Kienas. Together they built a family filled with love, raising three children, Edward "Bud," Robert "Bobby," and Karla Kay Joanne will be remembered for her warm heart, kind spirit, and many passions, including knitting, music, scrapbooking, reading, spending time with her family, and her lifelong admiration for Elvis.She is survived by her loving sister, Joyce Olsen of Edmonds, Washington; daughter-in-law, Wendy Kienas of Somers; son-in-law, Kurt Fischer of Bigfork; grandchildren, Robert (Amber) Kienas of Somers, Mitch (Meagan) Kienas of Kalispell, Lacey Kinkel of Somers, and Erik and Sierra Fischer of Bigfork. Joanne also leaves behind 16 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who will cherish her memory.She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Robert; daughters, Brenda and Karla; sons, Bobby and Bud; and granddaughter, Lindsey.In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Somers Volunteer Fire Department or Eidsvold Lutheran Church in Joanne’s honor.Joanne’s life was a testament to love, service, and family. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 8 at Eidsvold Lutheran Church. With a private family burial to follow at Trinity Lutheran cemetery. Reception will be held at the Somers Volunteer Fire Hall immediately after graveside service.
