Jon Thorpe Harder age 82 of Whitefish, passed away on January 3, 2022 at his home. With his family by his side. Jon was born on November 22, 1939 in Sioux City, Iowa to Albert and Rachel (Thrope) Harder.
Jon was raised in Kalispell, MT. Jon married Diane (Queschnik) in 1964 they celebrated 57 years of marriage. Jon started his career at C&C Plywood in 1963 and retired from Plum Creek in 2000.
Jon loved hunting with his son- in- law Doug. 4 wheeling with his grandkids, along with fishing camping, boating snowmobiling, and loved spending time with his family at his cabin on Thompson River and tinkering in his garage until his favorite show Mountain Men came on. he watched that show with his favorite cat Gizzy by his side.
Jon is survived by his wife Diane, of Whitefish, children Shelly and husband Doug Huntley: Kim Harder both of Kalispell. sister Judy Greco and husband Lanny. grandchildren Matthew and Brandon Wright and Willy Zukowski. nieces and nephews Kris Liann and Marty Scott.
A Special thank you to Jon's best friend John Carpenter, John could always be counted on for anything needed whether it was working on the lawn mower or just riding up to the cabin to work on stuff, all it took was a phone call John holds a very special place in this family.
