After 102 years of life, Joseph L Kaufman went to be with his Lord and Savior on April 14, 2025.
Joe was born, the youngest of four children, to Mark and Zeruah Kaufman in New Jersey. He attended Evergreen Elementary School and graduated from Flathead County High School in 1941. He and his wife, Lucille, raised a family of seven children in Kalispell and celebrated 74 years of married life before Lucille’s passing in 2018.
After serving in the US Army during WWII, Joe returned to the Flathead where he drove taxi, delivered milk door to door, and eventually opened Joe’s Radiator Shop in Kalispell. Joe loved Jesus and took every opportunity to share the gospel to all who would listen. He asked that this message be given to all, “If I ever met you and did not tell you about Jesus, I am sorry”.
Preceding him in death are his parents, brothers Roscoe and Dwight, sister Irma, and son-in-law Jerry Fredericks.
He is survived by his children: Ardath (Phil), Kenneth (Barbara), Leola, Barbara (Gary), Donna (Joe), Shirley (Bob), David (Karri), 14 grandchildren, and 21 great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 26, 2025, 1pm at Adventure Church in Kalispell. Internment is at Conrad Cemetery.
