Kenneth Field, 89, passed away March 26, 2022, at his daughter’s home. He was born Aug. 29, 1932, in Whitefish to Howard and Linnie Field.
Ken graduated from Whitefish High School in 1951 and married fellow classmate, Arlene Dalen, in 1952.
He served four years in the U.S. Navy and then owned a barber shop in Whitefish for several years. He went to work at the aluminum plant in Columbia Falls, where retired after 29 years.
He lived his entire life in the Flathead Valley, enjoying time spent with family on Whitefish Lake and at the family property at Good Creek.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Arlene, in October 2020. He is survived by his son, Mike Field, and wife, Lori, in Newport, Washington; daughter, Kim Read, and husband, Jim, in Fortine; grandchildren, Ryan Bell in San Antonio, Texas, Cory Field in Spokane, Jessica Henderson in Columbia Falls and Carie Francisco in Spokane; and five great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his family and many longtime friends. It is comforting to know that he has been reunited with the love of his life.
The family will gather privately to celebrate his life, there will be no public service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Kalispell.
