Louise Ione (Gregor) Redfield, 91, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2025, after a battle with dementia. She will be remembered for her kindness and generosity.
Louise was born Feb.7, 1934, to Roderick Henry Gregor and Ethel Louise (Johnson) Gregor in Dawson, North Dakota.As a young child, her family moved to Helena where she was raised.Louise graduated from Helena High School in 1952.After graduation, she attended Montana State University majoring in education.In 1954, she met the love of her life, Joe Redfield. They married in June of 1957. In 1958, they both graduated and started their teaching careers in Monroe, Washington.Louise enjoyed teaching elementary grade children.She also became a reading specialist for the school district.In 1988, Louise and Joe retired to Lakeside.She spent her remaining years enjoying friends and family, babysitting grandchildren and then great-grandchildren.Louise also volunteered at the local Lakeside Library. She was an active fundraiser — knitting children’ s sweaters, selling them, and donating the money to the library, Louise and Joe were happily married for 63 years.
Louise is survived by sons, Richard (Cheri) Redfield, Joe (Shawna) Redfield, both from Lakeside, Montana, and Jeff Redfield, from Monroe, Washington; grandsons, Mike (Amanda) Redfield and great-granddaughter, Ryann, both from Colorado; David (Sarah) Redfield
and great-grandsons, Roman and Leo, all from Colorado; and granddaughter, Nicole Redfield from Monroe, Washington.A celebration of life will be held in Lakeside.Date to be determined.In lieu of flowers, donations to the Lakeside Public Library would be appreciated.
