Kalispell

Jean Vogt, age 90, passed away October 10, 2025, in Kalispell, MT. She was born October 24, 1934, in Mobridge, SD, to Agnes and Cameron Wanstedt. She was raised on the family farm near Keldron in a very strong community of family and friends.

She graduated from Lemmon High School. Jean attended college at SDSU, later graduating from Northern State University in Aberdeen, SD, with her teaching degree—but more importantly, she met her future husband, Bill.

Jean and Bill were married on December 27, 1956. They were blessed to share almost 58 years together before Bill's passing.

Mom taught for one year before their daughter Kim was born in 1957. The family quickly grew, adding Steve in 1958, Rob in 1959, and Clark in 1960.

In 1967, they made the move from South Dakota to Kalispell for work. Kalispell became their home, though Mom always left a piece of her heart in South Dakota.

Mom was kept busy with an active family but still found time to be involved in PTA, Extension Club, Brownie and Cub Scout leader, Sunday school teacher, and, of course, serving as cab driver for all of us.

Mom and Dad were able to travel to several states. She especially loved the ocean. She enjoyed her weekly lunches with a close group of friends, played bridge for several years, and loved cooking and baking—her favorite hobbies, and ones she truly excelled at.

She took great joy in watching her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids in the events they were involved in “they were her greatest joy.”

We would like to thank Wel-Life and Hospice for their care and compassion through the end of her journey. Mom will be remembered for her generous spirit, beautiful smile, and infectious laugh.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Cameron and Agnes; her husband, Bill; her son, Clark; and her brother, Jack.

She is survived by her children Kim (Mick) Blodnick, Steve Vogt, and Rob Vogt, all of Kalispell.

Grandchildren: Beth (Casey) Herron of Missoula, MT; Freddie Blodnick of Missoula, MT. Great-grandchildren: Amesley, Camden, and Cayley Herron, all of Missoula, MT.

She is also survived by her sister-in-law Judy Vogt and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to Hospice or The Heart Locker. A Celebration of Life will be held in the summer of 2026.
