Ruth Sylvia Pomeroy

Ruth Pomeroy went to be with the Lord on March 16, 2024. She was born on July 6, 1927, in Eureka, Montana to Asa and Ina Curtis who lived on the family homestead, east of Fortine.

She attended grade school in Fortine and high school in Eureka. She loved the woods and mountains and spent many hours riding her horse, Roanie, on forest trails.

On May 7, 1946, she and J.W. Pomeroy (Bill), a neighbor boy were married in Kalispell, Montana. They built a cabin on part of her folks' homestead and made their home there. Their three sons Asa, Dennis, and Marvin were raised there and attended the same school. Ruth and Bill went to some twenty-five years earlier.

In 1970, they moved to Missoula where Ruth worked in St. Patrick’s Hospital, in the business office. They were members or the Christian Life Center and enjoyed church and they found friends there. Upon retirement, they moved to Kalispell where Bill preceded her in death in 1999. Son Dennis also preceded her in death in 1988, as well as son Marvin in 2017, and a granddaughter Leslie in 1923.

She is survived by her son Asa of Kalispell, five grandchildren; Freda, Celena, and Jason of Kalispell, Lani Ray of Phoenix, Arizona, and several great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Friday April 5, 2024, at 3:00 pm, at Buffalo Hill Funeral Home, 1890 US 93 N. in Kalispell, Montana.
