Scott Cowperthwaite, 55, was born in Santa Clara, California, on May 3, 1970, Scott Cowperthwaite was the youngest of four children of Michael and Margaret Cowperthwaite. He grew up on Bittern Drive in Sunnyvale, a street with many young families, an apricot tree in every backyard, and schools that were close enough to walk to. Scott pursued many interests while living in different parts of California after high school, and relocated to Kalispell, Montana in his 30’s. “Great Scott,” as he was known by many, loved the majestic beauty of Flathead Valley. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was quick to joke and laugh. He was a generous and kind friend. Scott was a lover of nature, animals, and the night sky. He was passionate about all kinds of music and enjoyed playing the drums. Scott died on February 18, 2026 in Kalispell. He faced chronic health issues with strength, positivity, and hope.
Scott was preceded in death by his parents Michael and Margaret and many beloved relatives and friends. He is survived by his siblings Jeremy, Janet, and Stephen, their partners Elba Watkins and Paul Kilduff, his niece Alice Kilduff, and many treasured friends.
