Sherry May Kennedy, age 85, passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 24th, 2026. She was born on March 21, 1941, in Conrad, Montana, to Mike and Mary Lou Ungar and was the twin sister to her brother, Larry Lee Ungar.
Sherry spent her early years in Cut Bank, Montana, where she also attended school. She married young and was blessed with two children, Tony Koepp and Teresa Holm, who remained the center of her life.
In 1964, Sherry married Bob Koepp, and together they built a life in Cut Bank and Helena. During those years, she worked as a cook in local hospitals, a role that reflected her lifelong love of caring for others through food. Sadly, in 1972, Bob fell ill and passed away, leaving Sherry to raise her children. She returned to Cut Bank to be near her parents, where she continued to build a strong and loving home for her family.
In 1978, Sherry married Don Kennedy, the love of her life. Together, they made their home in Sweetgrass, Montana, where they spent many happy years. Sherry worked alongside Don in his office and cherished the friendships and connections she made. She was known for her warmth, her talent in the kitchen, and the joy she found in caring for those around her, especially pampering her precious Donny.
Sherry and Don shared a special love for their lake place in Lakeside, where they hosted gatherings filled with laughter, food, and lasting memories. Sherry loved dancing, reading books, going to the casino, playing cards, sewing, and baking, but most of all, spending time with family and friends.
Following Don’s retirement, they moved to Great Falls, Mt where they found their dream home with a white picket fence. There, they continued to build a life filled with close friendships and happy moments. Their favorite times were spent with Tom and Karla and the rest of their friends.
In 2016, Don and Sherry moved to Kalispell to be closer to her daughter and son-in-law, as well as their beloved lake place.
Sherry was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Don Kennedy. She leaves behind her two children, Tony Koepp, Teresa Holm and husband Mark, her twin brother, Larry Lee Ungar, and her two grandchildren, Zach Audet and Rachel Audet, as well as extended family and many dear friends who will remember her for her kindness, resilience, and generous spirit. Sherry will be deeply missed, and her family finds comfort in knowing she is at peace with the Lord and Donny by her side.
