Stanley Heuscher

March 30, 1925 — January 4, 2010

Stanley R. "Stan" Heuscher, age 84, passed away Monday January 4, 2009 at the family home in Kalispell, Montana.  Stan was born March 30, 1925 in Creston to Jacob and Elsie (Ruckdashle) Heuscher.   Stan was raised in Creston and attended schools in the Flathead Valley.  He served in the U.S.Army from December 1943 through March 1946.  He served in Germany as a gunnery corporal.  After returning from the service, Stan worked in the woods as a sawyer before becoming logging foreman for Claridge Logging for the next 20 years.  In 1970, Stan was logging foreman for Stoltze Land and Lumber Co. until his retirement in 1990.  Stan married Evelyn Claridge in Kalispell in 1950.  They had 59 wonderful years together.  After retirement, Stan enjoyed traveling, golfing with his buddy Tom and attending any and all sporting events his grandchildren were in.  Stan loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman.  Many summer weekends were spent fishing for bull trout on the middle fork of the Flathead River.  Stan was preceded in death by his parents, 5 brothers, 3 sisters, and a grandson Joel.  He is survived by his wife Evelyn Heuscher; sons Larry and wife Sandy Heuscher of Kalispell, MT; Dennis and wife Karen Heuscher of Kalispell; Randy and wife Patsy Heuscher of Lynden, WA; sister Dorry Ingram; 10 grandchildren, Brian, Connie, Brandon, Lance, Tanja, Michael, Caitlin and Casey Heuscher; Shannon and Dan McGivern; 5 great great grandchildren Dyan, Dillan, andDaysha Guzman, and 9 day old Lawson Heuscher.
