Vickie Michelle Poston Buck, 46, was born on August 5, 1979, in Dillon Montana to Linda (McGrew) and Larry Poston. Vickie’s personality is a reflection of the light she receives from our Lord, Jesus Christ. She is compassionate, intuitive, and purpose-driven; she has a deep desire to help others, full of empathy, focus and love; she has a genuine way of connecting on a personal level with each person she knows. Vickie is a devoted wife, loving mother, and cherishes her grandchildren. Vickie enjoys serving Jesus, going on adventures, traveling, kayaking, motorcycling, playing games with her family and friends, and sharing her life with her grandkids. Her sudden and unexpected loss of life on April 16th 2026, leaves us heartbroken, yet grateful for the love she shared and the light she brought into our lives, which will not be forgotten and will continue to guide us.
Vickie was raised in the Flathead Valley by her mother, Linda with her older sisters, Vivian and Valerie, and younger brother Micheal Paul. Vickie attended school at Batavia and then Smith Valley. She was young when she had her only daughter, Hope Michaela, and then moved to Texas after meeting the love of her life, Hubert Buck. She graduated with an associate degree at Brookhaven Community College and a bachelor's degree in teaching from Texas Women's University, with honors each time. Vickie’s first year of teaching was middle school math in Texas before moving home to Montana. She taught for several years at Swan River School where she loved teaching her “Swanies” multiple subjects including Ancient Mesopotamia. She continued her education by earning a Master of Educational Administration from Grand Canyon University, graduating with honors. Russell Elementary was her next teaching adventure, ranging from teaching first-graders to being a phenomenal instructional coach to interim principal. At Kalispell Middle School, Vickie’s quick wit and humor made her an extraordinary middle school math teacher.
Vickie is preceded in death by her father, Larry Poston; stepfather, John McGrew; uncle, Marty Puryer; stepdaughter, Marie Buck; and both sets of grandparents.
She is survived by husband Hubert Buck; daughter Hope (spouse Billy); grandchildren VonnMichael, Nora, and Baby; mother, Linda; aunt, Sinda; siblings, Vivian, Valerie, and Micheal (wife Joanna); nieces and nephews, Katie (husband Clayton and their sons Thomas and Matthew), James (wife Autumn and daughter Bloom), Jonathan, Justin, Aspen, Cedar, and Sammuel; stepdaughter Margaret (husband Christopher); granddaughters Kimberly (husband Cameron) and Lindsey (husband Chase); and great-grandchildren Isabella, Wyatt, and Axel; and so many more relatives and loved ones.
