Anne Sauer

December 23, 1923 — May 1, 2021

Kalispell

Anne Sauer, formerly of Lakeside, went to be with her Lord May 1st, 2021.  Anne lived her life steadfastly walking with Jesus and was patiently waiting for him to lead her home.

Born December, 23rd 1923, she passed peacefully at home, with family by her side.

Anne was born in Detroit Lakes, MN, the 6th of 8 children.   Anne was the last of her siblings still living.  She loved music!  Anne sang and played piano for most of her life.  In High School she was in choir and played several instruments, including the bassoon in band, the cello in orchestra and the glockenspiel in marching band.  She attended Concordia College in Moorhead, MN where she majored in Home Economics and graduated in 1947.  Anne went on to teach Home Economics at Grove City High School for a short time before marrying her High School sweetheart Jack and moving to a cabin in the woods on Flathead Lake.  In Anne’s words, she “lived in the house that Jack built.”  She also told family “same house, same spouse for 65 years.”   They gradually added on to the cabin to make room for the 3 boys they were blessed with - Jack Jr., Mark and Gary Kirk.

Jack preceded Anne in death, passing in December of 2010.  Anne eventually moved to town, taking an apartment at Vil Joya Independent Living.  She loved her apartment and the friends she made there.  Anne also had many friends through her longtime membership at Eidsvold Lutheran Church in Somers, MT.  Anne is survived by her 3 boys: Jack of Lakeside, Mark of Kalispell and Kirk of Conrad, MT.  Family also includes daughters-in-law, 4 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the Vil Joya crew, Frontier Hospice and Pastor Andy from Eidsvold Lutheran for their loving care and support.  A family memorial service is being planned at a later date.
