Iva Mary Hiebert passed away July 9, 2021 at the age of 85. Iva was born on August 27, 1935 in Hannah, North Dakota to Wellington and Alice (Roblard) Thompson. She graduated from the eighth grade and spent some time attending the Devil’s Lake School for the Deaf. She married her husband Jake “Jack” Hiebert in North Dakota in 1961 and spent a wonderful 41 years together. Alongside raising their own three children, Iva would also nanny for several families throughout her life and took up waitressing. On her off time she would collect knick-knacks and other treasures, take walks, recycle, and go shopping, but her favorite leisure time was watching Westerns and doing puzzles with her family. Her biggest passion in life was being a homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Iva is preceded in death by her parents, Husband Jake “Jack” Hiebert, siblings Janice Carlson and Shirley Jerome, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Iva is survived by her children Kenneth and Thomas Hiebert and Myron Swenning, her grandchildren Jewel, Levi and Sierra Hiebert, Jordan and Brian Sweeny, Evan Halden, Mychael, Michell and Mackenzie Swenning, Amanda, Noah and Victoria “Tori” Hiebert, and her great grandchildren Angel Hiebert, Astryd Roberts, Everett Phillips, Sakoya and Brad Hiebert, Carter and Jaxon Olsen, Joshua, Zachary and Nathaniel Halden and Grant Swenning.
Private family services were held. Buffalo Hill Funeral Home and Crematory is caring for the family.
