Obituary

Kenneth “Kenny” Clyde Luntsford, 82, passed away in his home from heart failure on Oct. 10, 2020.

He was born on Oct. 17, 1938, in Spokane to Charles and Lois Luntsford.

He began his passion for law enforcement the age of 17 while serving his country in the U.S. Army. He continued to expand on his career until retiring from the Montana Highway Patrol 38 years later. One of his proudest moments was devising the MHP shoulder patch, which to this date has little revisions. He and his wife expanded on his passion by starting a local security business. He later began his loss prevention career at Fred Meyer and then Smith’s where he retired after 35 years of service. One thing is certain, Ken never stopped working.

Ken was extremely competitive with his passions, ranging from huckleberry picking, darts, board games and photography; especially with his wife. He had a strong love for the outdoors and spent much of his time camping, fishing, hunting and frequented lookouts and cabins. He would share the memorable moments with his wife of 47 years, his children and grandchildren.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Lois; and brother, Robert.

Ken is survived by his wife Mary’l, daughters Kimberly and Krystal, son Darrick and adopted daughter Mary Jo, grandchildren Samantha, Jaydon, Mackenzie, Tanner, Tyler, adopted grandson Matthew, and great-grandson Nova.
